In July we spent the weekend "camping" in Bear Lake. We got the group together, they camped and we stayed at the cabin.

Before school started we took our good friends Eric and Rachel up to the lake. They were first timers. It was raspberry days, so there were a TON of people. We pretty much stuck to the lake and the 4-wheelers. We did go down to the parade, which was pretty fun!

We welcomed our little boy (Im a little late on the post, he is 4 months old now)

It started out as a fantastic morning. We got to the hospital at 6:00 am and got settled. As soon as they inserted my IV and flushed it with saline I got really sick to my stomach and got really light headed. That was the beginning of a very loonnnnggg day. Bridger was born at 8:05 am. Weighing in at 5.9 and 19". He was able to come to the recovery room with me, the first of my children. I went up to the floor and they took him to the nursery and they were suppose to bring him back to me shortly. The clock kept ticking and no baby. I finally got a call from my pediatrician saying that he was going to the NICU because he couldnt keep his sats up. In the meantime I was just so sick. I have never been sick after having a baby. Long story short, he was is the NICU for 5 days because he could not figure out how to eat and breath at he same time. The nurses were awful and I was so glad to get him out of there. We took our baby home on day five weighing in at 4.12.

He will be managing the Utah sales reps for a company called the Chariot Group, who is based out of Alaska. Same industry as he is use to. Ahhh, to have an income again.

My baby girl got Baptized on April 10th. It is crazy to think she is old enough. It was a wonderful day. Tom, Arianna and I decided that we would have Grandpa Terry (Toms dad) baptize Ari. We wanted them to have that memory together. Tom confirmed her. It was a great day. Thank you to all the friends and family who came out and supported her.

This year with everything going on we decided (gulp) not to give Ari a birthday party. I know, meanest parents ever. Then comes along Auntie Devon. She saved the day and said we are giving her a surprise party. Ari LOVED it. It was a great time.

Merry HO HO!!! I Love seeing the kids on Christmas Morning when they first come out of their rooms. So fun. First thing my parents came down and dad made is traditional cinnamon rolls. YUM!! Then the fun started.

At Christmas time we decided to take the kiddies to see the lights at Temple Square. We had the brilliant idea to ride the Trax Train.... this was fine on the way there. The way back was a different story. MELT DOWN CITY!!

Crazy few months!!

I have good intensions with this blog. I will do better! I will do better! Maybe if I keep telling myself that it will happen!

My first post is just going to be an update of the last few months. Then we will get to the fun times. Okay, maybe not fun, but photos. The reason most people look at blogs.

Lets start at the end of November. We went up to the cabin to spend Thanksgiving with Tom's family. It was a very fun, relaxing time. We returned home and in a matter of days our world changed forever. On November 28th my father-in-law was not feeling well. On that Sunday he started having trouble reading and putting numbers in order. He went to the hospital and had an MRI. They found a brain tumor. On Monday the 30th they did surgery to see what kind it was and to take it out. Turns out he had a stage 4 Glyoblastoma. BAD NEWS! Statistics are against him. They were able to remove the tumor and started him on Radiation and Chemotherapy. The problem with this tumor is that it WILL grow back. It could be months or years. They say when it starts to grow again it grows fast. So we pray that he will be the exception and beat the hell out of it!!!!

December: We made vacation plans to take the kids to Disneyland in January. Two weeks after doing so, somethings happened at Toms job with his partners and to make a very long story short Tom resigned. He was getting a buy out, and with the numbers given we were going to be okay for 8 months or so. Yeaaaaahhhh, we all know nothing goes as planned. The buyout did not go as planned. We decided to take it and be done with his partners once and for all. So as of December 15th Tom was unemployed for the first time ever!!

January: Took the kiddos to Disneyland and had a great time. It was nice to go and spend sometime just the four of us. In the meantime, back in Utah, our basement was being drywalled. (this was all before no job was in sight). We decided since we had already payed for MOST of the basement things, just to have my dad come and finish it. I have the best dad in the world. Months of PRO-BONO work!!

February: We had a standard Echocardiogram scheduled (because of Ari, they just check every time). Of course with the way things were going, I should have just stayed in bed that day. They found that the little guy had a VSD. This is a hole in the bottom two chambers. I knew it wasnt a huge thing, considering what we had to go through with Arianna. However, with no medical Insurance and no Job, it was stressful.

March: My baby girl turns 8 years old. Tom is still looking for work, and the savings is just days from running out. On the bright side, we had a follow up Echo and the hole in the baby's heart has closed. They say there is a 20% chance it is still there, but muuuucccchhh smaller. YAY!!!!!

April: My blood pressures are high ( I freaking wonder why? ) So the Dr. puts me down on bed rest for a bit. Tom is still looking for a job. Money has now been gone for weeks. Again, there is a bright side. Arianna got baptized (pictures to follow). I was also able to schedule my c/s and this little guy will be here on May 27th. The day after Tom's birthday.

That is a slight, and I mean slight run down of the last few months. I would like to Thank everyone of our family members and friends who have kept us, and my FIL in your prayers. For those who have brought dinners and watched the kids. There are a few, and you know who you are, who answered the phone calls in the middle of the night, came to my rescue in the middle of the night (many times) and helped where you could help. I sincerely appreciate it and love all of you!!!!

The "2009" news

We have had a very busy year. We have spent a bunch of time up at the Cabin in Bear Lake. We have had the opportunity to grace St. George with our presence a couple of times. The kids and I went to Steamboat Springs Colorado for our family reunion. There was Alaska. Off the top of my head that is it.

Arianna started 2nd grade. She started out in the Charter school. After a couple of weeks we decided to put her back where she needed to be.... with the "regular" school. She is loving it. I cant believe that she is going to be 8 years old.

Payten a.k.a. the "distructor" has kept us very busy. She is all over the place and into everything. She is going potty on the "big" girl potty. She most definitely has hit the "2's". It is a wonder I have any hair left.

As for Tom and myself, just doing the everyday norm. Tom is working hard. As I write this he is in the office and it is 9:45 pm. Blahh. We have recently found out that we are expecting. I'm currently 10 weeks. After IVF with Payten, this was most definitely a surprise. We are sooo excited to have another running around soon. We will keep you posted on the baby news.

Soooo... this year was interesting. Payten is afraid of everything that makes loud noises and anything that looks, um... well she is afraid of everything. So we dressed her up, however she did not leave the house. She hid behind my legs most of the night!

The end of August, I think, we took the Sorensens and went up to the cabin!! We had a total blast!! There is nothing better than spending a weekend with some of your best friends. The best part is we were still friends at the end of it!! :) We went to the beach, rented a 6 person bike and rode around the town, ate, played games and of course we four wheeled!! Good times!

In May we went on a family (Richardson) cruise for seven days. Our ports were Juno, Skagway, Ketichecan, and Victoria B.C.. We had a ton of fun and it was the most beautiful place I have ever been. Having the kids there made it a little crazy, but overall we had a great time. However, when it was time to come home, it was time to come home!!

In March a we got a group of friends together and went to St. George for the weekend. The Alders, Sorensens, McKee and of course the Richardsons. We had a blast. We did bike riding, the boys did some golfing, the girls did a spa day and there was some shopping.

SAD NEWS!!

We found out today that Arianna's surgeon Dr. Hawkins is dying.
He only has a couple of months to live. I know there is a plan for everyone, it is just so hard to believe someone who has spent his life saving babies and children has to go the way he is going. Dr. Hawkins is an amazing man. He saved our baby.
For that we are eternally grateful.
Please pray for his family.

Arianna's 7th Birthday was a everything pink and karaoke party. All the girls came over and we played games, ate pizza, had candy, cake and ice cream. It was a blast!!!! Thanks everyone. I can not believe me baby girl is 7. It has gone by so fast. I love her more everyday, and the smile could light up a room. I must say after the rocky start she had she has come a LONG way. We are so proud of her. This is one little girl who has blessed the lives of many. If you do not know her, I suggest a play date. Your life will never be the same.

This year for Sarah's birthday we went up to Park City. We went to dinner and to a movie. We saw New in Town and it was AWESOME!! We went back to the hotel and went swimming then stayed up and pigged out on junk food and had some good old girl talk. Sunday we woke up went to breakfast then... SHOPPING!!! We hit all the great stores. Sadly Gymboree and the Coach store did not deliver this time. After the shopping we came back down to the valley and went to Ruby River and went to see He's just not that into you. Again, a great movie. We had a ball. It was nice to get away and relax kid free.

ORGY OF GREED

Ever since I have known Tom, his mom has called Christmas the Orgy of greed. With good reason. It doesnt matter if you "cut" back, somehow there always seems to be a massive amount of stuff. We had such a great time. This year Tom and I decided to stay put at the house. In the morning Toms Mom and Dad came over and then in the afternoon my family came over for an early dinner, then at 7 we went to see Bedtime Stories with our good friends Ira and Devon.

Oh the great storm. The day before Christmas Eve we were blasted. I mean blasted. In about 5 hours we had 13 inches of snow. Tom left to get the ham from the Honeybaked store in Orem, by the time he got home this is what it looked liked. He got high centered in our driveway. He had to take the Armada to pull himself out. I have a friend who said it best... "it looks like a war zone". Cars were having troubles driving down the road in the neighborhood and there were cars parked all over the street because no one could get in there driveway. Now there is no where else to push the snow. We have big walls made of snow in the hood. CRAZY!

We live a block away from the fire station and every year Santa drives through the neighborhood on the fire truck. Every year it gets me. I hear the sirens going and wonder what is going on. Then it always clicks. I end up running around the house looking for shoes and a coat for Ari before she misses it. It is so fun to see all the kids line the street waiting for Santa.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past couple years. Everyone knows that we had a rough go. First getting her was not an easy task. I have to send out a special thank you to Brooke for helping me keep sane and talking me off the "cliff" during our IVF process. Second, thank you to all those who supported us once we got her here and she didnt sleep and cried ALL the time, and once again I was on that "cliff". We do not know what we would do without every single one of you. You are a blessing to us and are so glad that we have you in our lives. Thank you for loving our kids as they were your own.

Sooooo..... Saturday the 6th of December we celebrated Payten's first birthday. Im still amazed at how fast this year went. I WANT THE TIME BACK!! We had our family and closest friends over for some food and cake. Payten was unsure about the whole thing, but we all had a good time.

Wednesday was Payten's 1st birthday. Man. this year went so fast. I cant believe it.

Tom was in New Jersey so I took Payten, my mom and dad, and Arianna

to dinner and to the festival of trees. Tom's mom and dad met us at Ruby River for dinner.

We had a great time.

Brooke, Kathy, Sarah and I went to see it on opening night. It was awesome. Better than I thought. Sarah has seen it 4 more times and says it gets better each and every time. One little side note...I LOVE EDWARD CULLEN. mmmm...

Yes, I admit it. I loved them when I was younger. However, after going to the concert and seeing the other three girls, I believe they love them even more. I wish I had video. I thought Rachel and Sarah were going down. All that went through my mind was that I was going to have to pick them up off the floor.

We had a great time. It was great to be able to act like a 13 year old again. THANKS CHELSEA.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving Arianna lost her top tooth, and the one next to it is pretty loose. To top it off on Thanksgiving day she did her own "makeup".

A couple of years ago we bought Arianna a $.10 goldfish. Notice I said a couple of years ago. Yeah, the fish lived two whole years. What goldfish lives for that long? I got sick of looking at it, so we decided it was time to lay it to rest.

Payten has had chronic ear infections since she has been born. Today was hopefully the end of all of that. We had tubes put in her ears. YEAH! The morning started early, we had to take Arianna to our friends house at 6:00 am (thanks Kim!!) and head up to Primary Childrens Hospital to be there by 7:00. Her procedure was at 8:30. They took her back and we went to the waiting room, Tom took out his laptop ( I know, SHOCK) and read one little article, and then the Dr. came out to talk to us. It was SUPER fast. The whole thing lasted 10 minutes. We then went back to recovery and waited for her to wake up, and then off we went. Everything went well, and we are hoping this helps her not be so fussy anymore.

We were total slacker this year when it came to taking pictures on Halloween. We had a bunch of friends over for dinner, and with all the chaos we were not thinking about it. Arianna was Sharpay from High School Musical. Payten was a flower.

Summer Time Fun!

This is a run down of our summer. It was a busy one, but a fun one.

Tom and I took the girls up American Fork Canyon for a BBQ. It was great for about 20 minutes, until it starting pouring, and when I say pouring I mean pouring. We had to eat our food in the car.

This is Thanksgiving Point at the petting zoo. Then we zipped over to the gardens and played in the water. This is our girls day out. Mom was in need of some adult conversation.

Kathy, Kim, Devon and I took all the girls to see High School Musical Live on Stage. They had a ball. Yes, we are all closet lovers.

Sarah and I took the kids and went to Bear Lake and spent a couple days up there for my Birthday. Girls weekend, who could ask for more?

We went to Lagoon with our friends Lee and Kim and the kids. Apparently, some of us look a little cranky. :)

We went up to Bear Lake with my family to Tom's Parents cabin. The kids had a great time riding four wheelers and playing in the lake.

Two Grouches and pumpkins

We went to take Arianna to the pumpkin patch, so we drove over to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point and that is where the MELT down began. Ari was ticked because we wouldn't pay $34.00 for her to go play for an hour. She cried the whole way home, then magically when she got home, HAPPINESS. What a girl!! Here are some pictures of the girls and pumpkins, then some of Ari and Tom getting ready to carve. I will post the final project when I get the energy to go take pictures of them.

So this is more entertaining than I thought. Arianna just came up to me and said "you have been on the computer all day." I believe I said that the neglect begins. :) I was cleaning up from dinner tonight and Tom gave P and bath and then put Arianna in. He went downstairs for a minute and Ari called out that P had made her way into the bathroom. I was headed that direction when Ari called out that she got in the tub. Yeah, she FELL head first into the tub. Can you say mother of the year? Here is the after pic.

A week in HEAVEN!!

So for our 10 year anniversary we wanted to go to Maui, but Payten was only 5 months old. I wanted to take the kids and Tom wanted to leave them. Yeah, we bagged that idea, so we ended up waiting until October and going on a cruise to the Mexican Rivera. Our ports were Cabo San Lucus, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallerta. We had an amazing time, and it was so nice to reconnect without the interruption of kids, the phone and Tom's dumb computer. Our good friends picked us up at the airport and we had a couple of hours so we went to the Freedom Bell in San Pedro. Thanks guys. We love you.

Malea this blog is for you!!

I have had so many people ask me why I do not have a blog. My answer to them is who has time to blog. I have decided what better way to keep all of our friends and family updated who live far away and who we don't talk to often.

So today officially starts the time I start ignoring my house, kids and life to start keeping all of you updated. Be patient with me as I have no idea what I'm doing.
