We found out today that Arianna's surgeon Dr. Hawkins is dying.
He only has a couple of months to live. I know there is a plan for everyone, it is just so hard to believe someone who has spent his life saving babies and children has to go the way he is going. Dr. Hawkins is an amazing man. He saved our baby.
For that we are eternally grateful.
Please pray for his family.

That is sad to hear, Jen. I'm so sorry. Is he really as young as his picture shows?
Melanie- I would say he is late 50's. I do not know when that picture was taken, but he looks the same.

Sorry to hear about Arri's doctor that's really sad. I'm glad that he has blessed your family's lives in giving her a chance to live hers.

The OR is dedicating OR #10 to him and we've made him a scrapbook and signed a quilt too. It's crazy to think he's really gone. He's only 53. He has two girls in college and a boy graduating high school. It's so, so sad. He's done so much for so many families. It just breaks my heart that I won't see him hangin' out in his scrubs.
